Grow Careers’ event at CAFRE Greenmount Campus
On Thursday, 21st June, a group of Year 11 girls had the opportunity to attend the ‘Grow Careers’ event at CAFRE Greenmount Campus.
The focus of the day was the range of careers in horticulture and we had the chance to participate in flower arranging, garden design and problem solving challenges. We also learnt about new, experimental ways of growing strawberries including the use of bio-fertilisers.
It was interesting to see how many different jobs there are in this field. The event finished with ice cream! We all thoroughly enjoyed the day, including Mrs Clarke!
