Ballymena and Antrim Schools’ Careers Fair

On Thursday, 8th March, 2018, all Year 12 pupils of Ballymena Academy attended the Ballymena and Antrim Schools’ Careers Fair held at Cambridge House Grammar School. The purpose of the trip was to allow the Year 12 pupils, who will soon be making the all important decision of picking their post-GCSE pathway, to gain a greater knowledge of possible future careers/places of study and the requirements they must meet in order to access these.

A wide range of companies and universities had display stands offering useful information for the Year 12 pupils. Some of these included RLC, an aerospace engineering company which offers a number of careers in different areas. Also Randox were present , a company which develops innovative diagnostic solutions and offers higher level apprenticeships in IT, Science & a variety of Business disciplines.

During their visit the Year 12 pupils gained a greater knowledge of post GCSE career choices and therefore the event was extremely well received by all.
