GCSE
Modern Languages give you the ability to communicate in a second language and understand different cultures. You develop language skills through studying topics such as pastimes, family, holidays and celebrations. Learning a language also gives you opportunities to develop confidence, independence, communication skills and presentation techniques, as well as skills in research, evaluation and analysis that universities value highly.
A-Level
Studying a language at A Level deepens your communication skills and cultural awareness. You’ll explore social and political issues, film and literature, and complete an independent research project. Language learning improves memory, flexibility and confidence. Oral fluency, writing and listening are assessed through a range of engaging tasks.
Careers
Having a language along with another discipline enhances your employability in sectors such as medicine, engineering, science, law, finance, tourism, international business, diplomacy and education.
