In Classical Civilisation, you’ll explore the fascinating world of Ancient Greece and Rome. You’ll study myths, gods, daily life, and important texts from the ancient world. No prior knowledge of Latin or Greek is needed — just curiosity and imagination. The course is assessed through exams and develops your critical reading and cultural awareness.
A Level
You’ll analyse epic literature, from Homer’s Odyssey to Virgil’s Aeneid, examine Roman imperial propaganda, and explore the origins of democracy in Athens.
Careers
This course prepares students for degrees in humanities, law, politics and cultural studies.
