Our new season commenced with the Bailie Cup at Ballymena Golf Club on Friday, 4th April, when the winner was William Lennox, 2nd George McCrea and 3rd Sam Stockman.
Portstewart Riverside Course was the venue for the Swann-Hanna Cup on Friday, 2nd May. On this occasion the winner was Robin Dick, with Taylor Erwin in 2nd place and Peter Dick 3rd. The visitors’ prize was won by Tom McIlwaine.
President’s Day was held at Shandon Park Golf Club on 15th August. The winner was Jimmy Fullerton, 2nd Ciaran Corbett and 3rd Michael Burton. The visitors’ prize was won by Ian Rosborough and the team competition went to Robin Dick, Peter Dick and Ian Simpson.
Portrush Valley Course was the venue for the Public Schools’ Old Boys’ Society Competition on 16th May, when we finished in a creditable 5th place.

Past Pupils’ Lady Golfers’ Association

The Lady Golfers’ Association enjoyed four outings during the 2008 season. The first was held on 28th May at Portstewart Town Course, when the winner was Margaret McCaughey, 2nd Heather McGarry and 3rd Dorothy McCaughey.
Greenacres Golf Club was the venue for the second outing on 11th August, when the winner was Anne Speedie, with Louie Fillis in 2nd place and Dorothy McCaughey 3rd.
Captain’s Day was held at Ballymena Golf Club on 15th September. The winner was Heather McGarry, 2nd Margaret McCaughey and 3rd Anne Speedie.
Our last outing of the season was an inaugural match against St. Dominic’s Past Pupils, played at Ballymena Golf Club on 13th October. This proved to be a most enjoyable competition and hopefully the first of many.
