BA JrCU Weekend at Castlewellan Castle

BA JrCU spent their weekend away at Castlewellan Castle. It was a jam packed programme of talks, worship, discussion groups, games, fabulous food, the fabulous Mr Christie’s quiz, Hunt the Superhero  and the annual attempt to see if we could lose any teachers in the maze. This year we were successful, and Mrs Liggat, her husband and baby Joshua, who had come to visit for a few hours, had to be guided out by the enthusiastic pupils.

Our thanks go to Miss Morrow, our speaker, for her thoughtful insights into “Moses – the unlikely superhero”.

At our Service of Remembrance on sunday morning, one of the girls’ groups wrote an acrostic poem prayer:-

P is for passion, the passion of those men who fought for us and the passion of God who saves us.

O is for old and young, the soldiers died for everyone. Men of every age who died, and all along You were their guide.

P is for the peace we will one day see, when we get to heaven because the Lord dies for me.

P is for the promise You made to us all, that You listen and respond to our call.

Y is for you and me, that the soldiers died for us all so willingly. So Lord we want to thank You now for all the blessings that You’ve given to us even before we were born.
