Scripture Union NI 'Unite' Event

Pupils from Ballymena Academy attended the Scripture Union NI 'Unite' Event in the Ulster Hall on Saturday 11th March.

Senior CU Committee members Emma Smyth and Lauren Stevenson have represented Ballymena Academy on the Ballymena SU district team since September. They helped to organise a local schools 'Unite' - Praise, Prayer and Pudding Event in Dunclug College on 10th February which was attended by a large number of Ballymena Academy pupils as well as students from Slemish College, Dunclug College, Cambridge House Grammar School and Cullybackey College.

Lauren and Emma also served as stewards on Saturday night at the Ulster Hall and were delighted to meet pupils from Scripture Union groups from all over Northern Ireland. It was fantastic to see Year 9 pupil John Kennedy speak about CU in Ballymena Academy and how God has used it to impact his life.

Phil Howe from SUNI then spoke on John 17 v 20-26 - Christians' mission to unite together. Videos were also shown including one which featured Emma Smyth speaking about what Ballymena Academy Senior CU has been getting up to this year. She shared about the 'God is greater than....' theme and how pupils have been studying the Bible in small groups.

All pupils who attended really enjoyed the evening. Special thanks go to Joel Hutchinson and Rachel Sheppard, E3 Ballymena SU workers, for all their support and the staff of SUNI for putting on a fantastic 'Unite' event.
